"John Travolta recently appeared on Oprah with his Wild Hogs co-stars, Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy, to promote the film, in theaters March 2nd. On the show, John discussed his children, Jett, 14, and Ella Bleu, 6, and his stance on his letting them follow in their parents' acting footsteps. When he's not working, the 53-year-old spends time watching his old flicks with Jett and Ella. Jett was young when he saw Look Who's Talking, but he didn't like it when I was kissing Kirstie Alley. But Ella took right to it right away. That's why last year she said, 'When am I going to do a movie with you?' Little did she know, dad had a trick up his sleeve.
Father and daughter, who John calls a "natural performer," will make a film together soon. But John is quick to say he has never pressured Ella to act because he feels it's better to let her discover what she wants to do herself. My mother didn't push me, either. We were just given our space to be whatever we wanted to be, and I decided that works better than any kind of pressure. John's support for Ella's burgeoning acting career will be unwavering as he states that he doesn't subscribe to the belief a lot of other celebrity parents do - to discourage their children from pursuing a career in show business. Unless they're afraid they're going to be rejected and they want to protect them. And I can imagine parents would fear that, but you can be rejected in any profession. John has been married to actress Kelly Preston for 15 years."
